Altoona church confirms 'some' positive cases; moves to remote services

Officials with the First Church of Christ in Altoona confirmed Thursday that there have been "some" positive cases of COVID-19 reported within the church congregation in the past week.

The church says that due to the increase in cases, it will be hosting virtual services for "at least" the next two weeks.

Church officials say that they encourage their staff and congregation to follow all guidelines, including mask-wearing and social distancing, and that the church's main priority is to keep its congregation safe.

The church notes that it is continuing to monitor the situation on a regular basis, and all updates will be posted to its Facebook page and website.
